Full Season for 'Studio 60'
Rumors aside, NBC has decided to stick with ‘Studio 60.’ The network brass, Kevin Reilly, has come out and explained that ‘Studio 60’ taps into a demographic that NBC really wants: college-educated households with incomes that exceed $75,000. For those who actually watch ‘Studio 60,’ this is humorous irony, because Amanda Peet’s character on the show explained a similar situation for the fictitious network NBS.
Apparently, more affluent households are worth more to networks than the underlings. It all makes sense, of course, but this is not a social commentary. ‘Studio 60’ will be on NBC through the season. The final nine episodes were purchased, which will take the show through the spring.
NBC is working hard to set up a solid January lineup to combat FOX’s ‘American Idol’. Shows like ’30 Rock’ and ‘Friday Nigh Lights’ are still not up to par, while ‘Heroes’ is blowing doors down. NBC is having a mixed start to the season.
Regardless, ‘Studio 60’ will be on the air. So, tune in Mondays and enjoy the highbrow, upper-middle class humor.
