Game Of Thrones Fans Skewered The Boy King With #RoastJoffrey

It was a special day this weekend past for fans and residents of Westeros, imaginary realm where all the Game of Thrones action takes place. It was a night rarely seen: a chance to roast — comedy style! — their bastard (born from twin incest, because of course) son, the young King Joffrey Baratheon. And with the hashtag #RoastJoffrey, a movement was born upon the social media landscape replete with jokes, Vines, and tweets aplenty. Guess people really hate that little Lannister in stag’s clothing — I mean it is the most illegally downloaded series on TV.

It all started simply enough: a call to chaos and conviviality in the form of a video that included the oft-uttered and hilariously meek Joffrey quip, “I’m telling mother!” And quickly after that, the boy was seen getting slaughtered, metaphorically of course (though, mini-spoiler alert: teeheehee, fans of the George R.R. Martin novels know what’s in Joff’s future, and it’s very, very purple) all across the social media realm. Praise the old gods and the new, that prattling brat’s finally gotten what he deserves most: a swift kick in the rear. He really is the Justin Bieber of Westeros.

The series even got some of Joffrey’s biggest fans (using that term loosely, of course) to send their own video regards, including The Mountain's brother, The Hound a.k.a. Sandor Clegane, and the littlest murderer, Arya Stark:

Heck, even a few famous people (and a bunch of brands) got in on the action, too.

Overall, I’d dare say we found the whole thing…
