Game Of Thrones Season 4 Trailer Vines Tease Swords, Jon Snow, Daenerys And More

For those who faced the polar vortex, winter is already here. But for Game of Thrones fans, Winter is still Coming in the more figurative sense, and so is the Season 4 trailer! A day after HBO announced the April 6 premiere date for the hotly anticipated fourth season of the fantasy drama series, the premium cable channel released a series of Vine videos, giving us some quick but thrilling teasers of the trailer to come.
Teasers for trailers have been a thing for a while now, and while we could roll our eyes at the concept, who are we to scoff at whatever morsels HBO’s willing to toss at us in an effort to whet our appetite for the full meal. Or the full appetizer anyway, as the actual fourth season would be the meal in this metaphor.
As each teaser indicates, the full Season 4 trailer will arrive on Sunday night at 8:58 p.m. ET right before True Detective premieres.
Here’s a preview that shows Jon Snow getting violent with a sword:
Less thrilling but still exciting is the sight of Tyrian walking…
Men and horses on the move and more slashing swords…
And last but most definitely not least, the beautiful Daenerys…

It seems like these five are it for now, but you can follow HBO’s Vine page here in case anything else pops up between now and Sunday. It’ll be great to see what the rest of the trailer reveals to us. In the meantime, HBO announced a number of premiere dates at the TCAs this week, including the April 6 return of Game of Thrones, which arrives along with Veep and their new comedy series Silicon Valley.

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
