Gene Simmons To Rock A&E For Second Season
It seems like reality TV can’t get enough dysfunctional celebrity families. VH1 has its ‘Hogan Knows Best.’ A few years ago ‘The Osbournes’ held the rapt attention of MTV audiences. Now, Gene Simmons, the legendary KISS rock star with the abnormally long tongue, is returning to A&E with his fam for an all new season of ‘Family Jewels’ set to premier March 25 at 9:00 PM EST.
From the press release: "With its trademark warts and all style, the series promises to shock and entertain viewers as Gene and Shannon Tweed make television history with the broadcast of their dual facelift operations!"
Simmons is certainly no stranger to face-alteration. He and his band are world-famous for their trademark make-up which at one point they swore never to be seen in public without.
The press release continues, "For the first time ever, a celebrity couple allows cameras inside the operating room. Viewers will have an uncensored look at their plastic surgeries from pre-op to post-op, including the couple’s long road to recovery. In addition to revealing their new faces, the new season will show whether Gene and Shannon can continue to be “Happily Unmarried” after more than 20 years together, Nick preparing to leave for college, Sophie fast becoming a young lady, and Shannon’s determination to have another baby – all while Gene is living the life of a Rock God."
Leslie Greif, Adam Reed and Gene Simmons will executive produce the series, with Adam Freeman as co-ex producer. Simmons, as you may know, co-founded the rock band KISS 34 years ago. The glam/rock band took the musical world by storm with their theatrical performances and such hits as ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ and ‘Beth.’
