George Lopez Passes The Buck In It's Not Me, It's You Comedy Special Trailer

Following the cancellation of his TBS late night series Lopez Tonight, George Lopez has moved on to other hosting duties, and can currently be seen on Thursday nights on Fox's dating game show Take Me Out. Those who prefer his stand-up have his HBO comedy event George Lopez: It's Not Me, It's You to look forward to later this month.

Airing Saturday, July 14, It's Not Me, It's You will take place live at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and is Lopez' third solo stand-up special at the pay-cable network. In the promo video below, we get a look at the special and Lopez explains the title…

It sounds like he's turning the "passing of the buck" nature of the title into something positive, unless I'm misinterpreting his comments. From what HBO says, a number of topics will be addressed in Lopez' comedy act, including his visit to the White House. It should be interesting and amusing to hear what he has to say about that:

In this all-new special, Lopez discusses the state of Latinos in the United States and is expected to cover topics such as dating and marriage, alcohol and drugs, parenting, irritating pets, Latino environmental firsts, getting old, the behavior of children today and the importance of teaching them “the hard way.” He also talks politics and reveals his thoughts on his visit to the White House.

Given that his Take Me Out responsibilities don't give a huge amount of room for Lopez to flex his comedic muscles, I expect fans will appreciate the opportunity to see him back on stage doing stand-up for a live audience.

George Lopez: It's Not Me, It's You premieres SATURDAY, JULY 14 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT) on HBO.
