Girls: The Complete First Season Will Hit Blu-ray In Time For The Holidays

Girls features an outstanding cast of understandable and often very funny women. Created and written by Lena Dunham and backed on the executive producer end by Judd Apatow and Help Me Help You’s Jenni Konner, HBO’s original comedy has done well with the critical crew, earning five 2012 Emmy Nominations. As it turns out, HBO seems to be waiting to see if the company will be able to slap some award winner stickers on the Blu-ray and DVD boxes, holding off on Girls: The Complete First Season until December.

Girls: The Complete First Season will hit Blu-ray and DVD on December 11, in a set that will be chalk full of interviews, so if you like to hear the cast and crew talk, the set should be right up your alley. Blu-ray copies will come with several more features than the DVDs including deleted and extended scenes, cast auditions, and a 20-page photo booklet.

The Girls: The Complete First Season news comes on the heels of some casting for Season 2, which is set to begin airing in January. Tom Hank’s other half, Rita Wilson, Colin Quinn, Donald Glover, and Patrick Wilson are all set to play on the show next season. We’ve still got a few months left before we get to hang out with Hannah and the gang, but at least we’ll have the Season 1 Girls set to tide us over in the interim.
