Girls Preview: Episode 5 Clip - Charlie Gets Angry
Last Sunday's episode of Girls left off with a dramatic little twist which, based on the clip we have to share from this Sunday's episode, will lead in to some fallout between Charlie and Marnie. And Hannah's biggest concern is less on her friend and more on herself. Can't say I'm surprised…
The promo for the episode hinted that Hannah's focus on the diary incident was less on how it was going to affect Marnie and Charlie and more on what they say about the actual writing. The clip from "Hard Being Easy" zooms in a bit closer on Hannah's self-absorbed perspective on the matter.
Granted, Hannah hasn't exactly proven to be an expert on relationships, but her lack of sympathy, at least as demonstrated in the above clip, is a bit harsh. Maybe she thinks because Marnie isn't in love with Charlie, how her words affect the relationship don't matter, or are somehow less important than how her diary is perceived. She seems indifferent about Marnie's frustration over the situation and aCharlie's anger… until she thinks he's going to hit her. Really, it just looks like Charlie wants to take his table and go.
Girls airs Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on HBO.
