Girls Season Finale Preview: Episode 10 - She Did
So? Who's the wound? Things between Hannah and Marnie reached a boiling point last week on HBO's Girls in the appropriately, if not so subtly titled, ”Leave Me Alone,” and there is only one episode remaining in the first season to pick up the pieces. Or, more appropriately, move the pieces, since it seems like the BFFs will no longer be living under one roof. The split was just the icing on the (cup)cake (in the bathtub) for Hannah, who first had to deal with the success of her untalented, college nemesis before, at the behest of Marnie and Ray, questioning her 'voice' and embarrassing herself at a public reading. And right in front of Michael Imperioli's possibly interested writing professor!
As for the other two Girls, Jessa also got a lesson in growing up courtesy of her former boss - a nice, subdued guest spot for the great Kathryn Hahn - coming over for an awkward (and sadly, a little on the nose) visit. The actresses did their best to make the scene not feel too forced and largely succeeded. Lastly, but certainly not least, Shoshanna continued her quest to find a boy, this time extending her search to the internet and entertaining the idea of a day-date. Although her suitor sounds 'perfect' (you know, except for the fact that she found him online), we didn't get a chance to our favorite virgin actually out or even get to meet him. And, by the looks of the preview for "She Did," things don't seem to have worked out with the web romance but that doesn't mean all is lost in her quest for love. Or sex. Enter Ray. Wait, that sounds gross...
On top of Ray and Shoshanna possibly getting on top of each other (a thread that I've been waiting to see picked up since "Buckwick"), it looks like Marnie and Hannah are actually going forward with their 'break-up' while Jessa, mysterious as ever, decides to throw a very important impromptu party. It looks like Marnie is about to embrace some spontaneity and change, optimistic about not having a plan for a place to live, but then she quickly retreats into the comfort of Charlie's arms at Jessa's soiree. And Hannah, who is now being civil about the roommate switch might fill the empty bedroom with Elijah (Andrew Rannells) her college boyfriend who has since come out of the closet. Cue the inevitable season finale fight with Adam.
The season finale, Episode 10, of Girls airs Sunday at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO. It stars Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams. From executive producer Judd Apatow, Girls was created by Lena Dunham.
