Glee's Kevin McHale Reportedly In The Running To Co-Host The X Factor Season 2

The matter of the judges situation for Fox's second season of The X Factor has been settled, with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato having taken over the two seats vacated by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. But what about the host? With the series set to return in just over a month, it's surprising that we haven't heard confirmation on who will take over for Steve Jones, who was let go after the singing competitions first season.
At the very least, the rumors have begun to circulate. TV Guide reports that Glee's Kevin McHale is in the running for the job. More specifically, their sources say McHale is being considered for the job as co-host of The X Factor. Glee fans know McHale for his role as the wheelchair-bound Artie in the musical dramedy series. In addition to being a friendly and familiar face to Fox viewers, he strikes me as charismatic enough to be host material. It may come down to his schedule and/or interest and ability in tackling the challenge of co-hosting a live show. As TV Guide points out, he did co-host the Teen Choice Awards this year, so he has some experience at hosting.
It sounds like Simon Cowell is looking to bring in two hosts for Season 2, aiming for a male-female duo. Among the names mentioned as being up for consideration are Khloe Kardashian, Erin Andrews and Kelly Osbourne. Of the three, sportscaster/journalist Erin Andrews might be the most qualified. Khloe Karashian is probably the only Kardashian of the bunch who I'd consider to be a potentially decent host. And as much as I like Kelly Osbourne, I associate her more with fashion than with singing, but she's certainly likable and she does come from a musical family, so who knows?
