Gotham Series Gets A Dark New Logo And An Official Synopsis
With its cast in place, Fox's Gotham appears to be taking the first big step toward marketing, as the anticipated Gotham City-set series now has a proper logo, website, Facebook page and Twitter. In this day and age, it's everything a series needs... well, that and episodes. Hopefully those are coming soon. The logo for Bruno Heller's series goes dark and almost completely black and white. Beyond the skyline of the fictional city, there's also a few blimps in view, and a spotlight. But that's unlikely to be the Bat symbol folks, as this series is a prequel set before Bruce Wayne went on to become Batman.
Thanks to ScreenCrush for noting the update, here's the full synopsis listed on the official Gotham website.
The synopsis summarizes much of what we've gleaned about the series from the casting information, which began with Ben McKenzie signing on to play the lead role of Detective James Gordon, a younger version of the police commissioner we're familiar with from the Dark Knight films. This series is set up as a prequel to Batman's era in Gotham, but the synopsis does indicate that part of the show will focus on the start of Gordon's friendship with Bruce Wayne, who's a child in this series.
Since McKenzie was cast, Donal Logue signed on, as did Jada Pinkett Smith and others. And most recently, the series added its young Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, the former of whom will be played by Touch star David Mazouz, while Selina Kyle will be played by the talented Camren Bicondova.
In addition to the site, Fox also has a Facebook Page and a Twitter for Gotham, for those looking for the latest updates on the series.
