S.H.I.E.L.D. Pilot Starts Filming, Set Photos Tease Vehicles, Whedons And Punctuation
Once upon a time, when a TV pilot was getting made, we might not hear an update about it until the official word was passed down from the network one way or the other. But we're living in an age of Instagram and Twitter, where cast and crew will occasionally drop a photo or two of production online to give eager fans a small taste of what's in the works. Such is the case for the hugely anticipated Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot that's being made.
The photos released for the pilot in development for ABC are far less spoilery than some of other recent updates about the project, but EW reports that filming has started on the pilot this week and we're already seeing some fun but vague snapshots from the set.
This first one comes from co-writer Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr. Horriblle's Sing-Along Blog) and gives us a silhouetted peek at Joss Whedon looking heroic and sort of angelically glowy when you factor in the halo-like sunset.
And here's a shot of a struck with the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on it.
Finally, the chair of co-writer Jed Whedon (also of Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible, brother of Joss, husband of Maurissa).
And it looks like the periods between letters are a recurring thing for the names on the chairs, which makes me wonder how often the writers have had to type out S.H.I.E.L.D. and whether or not they're going to find some way to not have S.H.I.E.L.D. as part of the title of this series (or at least omit the periods).
