NBC's Hannibal will focus on the cases (un)solved the during budding relationship between, FBI Profiler, Will Graham and, the psychiatrist with a secret, Dr. Hannibal Lecter but, as with any police procedural, it takes more than two to tango. The tango, in this case, being crime scene investigation.
The show from the genius, and the very busy, Bryan Fuller has done a fantastic job in casting the investigative unit so far, with Hugh Dancy playing Graham (opposite Mads Mikkelson's Lecter) alongside Laurence Fishburne's Senior Agent Jack Crawford, Caroline Dhavernas' Dr. Alana Bloom and Aaron Abrams' Brian, a medical school grad and tech geek who will often be paired with the latest addition to the already large ensemble.
According to THR, the horror procedural has cast a new member of the investigative team with Hettienne Park stepping into the role of CSIer and fibre specialist (probably Dr.) Beverly Katz. As I mentioned, Park's character will work closely with Abram's Brian but also apparently clashes with Dancy's Graham over his unorthodox methods and the special treatment he receives in lieu of them. As with most series, when two characters initially clash, look for a possibly romantic relationship to blossom out of the head butting.
Park has done a string of small TV roles, including The Good Wife and Damages, but her most recent role was in Jason Reitman's Young Adult starring Charlize Theron. The picture above (by Jeremy Daniel) shows the actress working on Broadway early this year in Seminar with Jerry O’Connell, who coincidentally was also cast in a Bryan Fuller series (Mockingbird Lane) this coming season. Coincidence or recommendation? Maybe Fuller caught his Herman Munster on stage and made note to cast his co-star in an upcoming role. Man, I should be a detective!
The NBC-Gaumont International Television co-production is written by Fuller, directed by David Slade and is scheduled for a midseason premiere on NBC.
