Hannibal Gives Us A Hand With A Gruesome New Teaser

NBC's efforts to tease the potential gore-factor in their upcoming new drama Hannibal are growing less and less subtle. With less than a month to go until the premiere, the latest teaser takes the dark and violent plot of Bryan Fuller's approaching series to the next level with a brief but intense little teaser. Check it out ahead and don't say I didn't warn you!

The series is based on the characters from Thomas Harris' novels, and follows the start of the relationship between criminal profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and the brilliant (but secretly deadly) Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). The teaser below packs a powerful punch in its fifteen seconds.

Is someone going to get that?

The classical piano music contrasts unnervingly with the screeching beep of the phone, which is held loosely by a hand, that's attached to an arm, that's attached to no one. Yuck! And in the background, there are the detectives, including Laurence Fishburne, standing in the front. Who knows what else their eyes are seeing in that crime scene. Is it just the arm? Are are there other parts? I'm not sure if I want to know.

We still have weeks to prepare ourselves for whatever this potentially fantastic series has to offer. Hopes are high for Hannibal, which premieres on NBC Thursday, April 4 at 10/9c on NBC. Watch the full trailer for the series here.
