Homeland Bound: Claire Danes Talks About Her TV Career And Working On The New Showtime Series
Claire Danes doesn’t see herself as a kickass CIA officer, however someone must have because otherwise, she wouldn’t be playing one in the upcoming Showtime drama series Homeland. Showtime released a video today, which features Danes discussing her acting career as it pertains to television.
I'll be honest and say that I hadn't exactly pictured Danes playing the female equivalent of Jack Bauer, if that is, in fact, a fair description of her upcoming role in the Showtime drama. Then again, I've never seen her in a bad performance, so I'm sure she's more than capable of taking on this part. Prior to becoming one of the best portrayals of a realistic teenage girl ever to grace the small screen through her role in My So Called Life, Danes apparently had a role as a teen-murderer on Law & Order. Danes talks briefly about that in the video below, along with discussing life in New York, and being chosen to take on one of the lead roles in Homeland, which has her playing a CIA officer who suspects a recently recovered Prisoner of War may be connected with a terrorist plot on U.S. soil.
Homeland premieres premieres October 2, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
