Homeland Season 2 Hits Home With New Trailer And Poster
Homeland was the best new show last year. Bold claim? Sure, but it has all the hardware to back it up - countless Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, winning two of the latter - and even those who don't put much stock in the awards ceremonies would be hard pressed to find a compelling argument against Showtime's stellar debut stealing last season. The fall is inching ever closer, which means audiences will finally get to see more of Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison and Damien Lewis' Sergeant Nicholas Brody do the terrorism tango and the latest trailer showcases how the characters are two sides of the same coin. Heads or tails?
The teaser was perfectly cut to give you not only a sense of where Brody and Carrie have been (as well as brief glances at the supporting cast) but where this season may take them. And us. The final image of Danes' Carrie holding the campaign button and looking into the camera reminded me how invested I became in her character's struggle and how high a mountain she has to climb. Oh, "and how dangerous would you be?" was a great line to accompany the image and close out the chilling voice over.
Hopes are high for Season 2 where, according to the new poster via EW, Homeland "hits home." Last season didn't? It's a bit odd with Carrie is looking at us through the fourth wall while Brody is looking at her across the divide, but I still like it. It's bold. What do you think?
Homeland returns on September 30 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime. It stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Morena Baccarin and Mandy Patinkin. It was created by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa.
