How I Met Your Mother Series Finale Date Set, Also Check Out Spoiler Photos From 'Slapsgiving 3'
How I Met Your Mother’s end is approaching. That in itself isn’t news, as we’ve known for some time that the ninth season would be its last, but CBS has announced the date of the planned one-hour series finale for the comedy, which is set for late March. We also have some spoilery information about a certain How I Met Your Mother ongoing story-arc that will be resolved before this comedy wraps up for good.
We’ll get to that in a minute. First, here’s CBS’s line-up for the later part of winter in 2014, beginning with the How I Met Your Mother finale, which will be followed by the premiere of their new half-hour comedy Friends with Better Lives, which comes from Dana Klein, Aaron Kaplan and Dave Hemingson, and stars Kevin Connolly, Majandra Delfino and James Van Der Beek. The new comedy will move to its regular 8:30 p.m. time period on Monday, April 7. Meanwhile, 2 Broke Girls will shift to the 8:00 p.m. timeslot on April 14. You’ll also notice the new drama Intelligence on there. That actually debuts with a special premiere on Tuesday, January 7 at 9/8c after NCIS.
Now for the HIMYM spoilers! TURN BACK NOW if you don’t want to know!
How I Met Your Mother will return January 13 with its next new episode, which will be titled “Slapsgiving #3: Sappointment.” As you might be able to guess already, this episode will feature Marshall’s attempt to deliver a devastating final "Slap Bet" slap to Barney. In the episode, Marshall will explain how he mastered “the Slap of a Million Exploding Suns,” which sounds like some kind of amazing martial arts slap. Or should I said, Marshall arts? Heh. Check out these two photos from the episode:
You have to figure that the final slap should and will be epic, considering how long we've waited to see it. Expectations will surely be high and we have less than a month to wait to see how it plays out.
