Husbands Chosen For NBC's New Show Kath And Kim
John Michael Higgins is truly a diverse actor. He’s played the extremely flamboyant half of a gay couple in the movie Best in Show, a folk singer in A Mighty Wind, David Letterman in The Late Shift and one of Elaine’s many beaus on Seinfeld. He was recently in Fred Clause, and just got a new gig (not to mention several others that are in production).
Mr. Higgins was just named, along with Mickey Day as the male counterparts of the title characters on the new NBC show Kath and Kim. Hollywood Reporter reported the story saying, “Higgins will play Kath's man, who racewalks every morning and gets facial peels. Day will play Kim's husband, a cute, simple guy."
A guy who speed walks and gets facial peels – that doesn’t sound much different from the character Higgins played in Best in Show. In the hilarious mockumentary centering around the world of eccentric dog owners, Higgins character, Scott Donlan packed enough kimonos for 48 hours worth of Japanese Tea Services, and hand embroidered red details all over a pair of black leather pants.
Molly Shannon and Selma Blair were a big draw for Kath and Kim, and I think the show would have made it through the first season to have a second, but with Higgins on board, they are sure to be a success.
