Infamous Preview: A Look At NBC's Midseason Drama Starring Meagan Good

Set to join NBC's line-up at some point during the 2012-2013 is Infamous, a series that looks like another soapy Revenge-like drama, except instead of vengeance, the lead character is infiltrating a wealthy household in search of answers following the murder of her best friends. The clips ahead introduce us to Joanna Locasto, an undercover detective with ties to the wealthy family of a murdered woman.

As a fan of Revenge, it's easy to be intrigued by the premise of this series, which has Meagan Good playing a detective who decides to go undercover to investigate the death of an heiress, who was also her childhood friend. Here's the cast photo and NBC's official synopsis for the series.

When wealthy socialite and notorious party girl Vivian Bowers is found dead of an overdose, no one is really surprised. The heiress to the Bowers pharmaceutical empire has been tabloid fodder for years: wild, pretty, privileged… and now dead at the age of 32. But for FBI agent Will Moreno (Laz Alonso, "Avatar"), things don't add up with this suspicious dynasty.Convinced that the troubled girl's death was a homicide, he has a clever plan to get to the truth. Her name is Detective Joanna Locasto (Meagan Good, "Think Like a Man"). Twenty years ago she was Vivian's best friend and practically grew up inside the Bowers' home. And when she appears at Vivian's funeral, the family re-embraces her and no one is the wiser. Joanna quickly begins to uncover dark secrets and clues about why Vivian's life was very much in danger. At the same time, she rekindles an old romantic relationship and rediscovers the allure of the luxurious lifestyle she once knew. She's about to see once again just how the other half lives... and dies.

NBC doesn't have this one listed on the fall schedule, so we may have to wait until midseason, unless the network finds some other spot to put it before then.

The clips below introduce us to Joanna, first as she's presented with the opportunity to investigate her old friend's death, and later when she's actually there and apparently speaking with Vivian's sister, who may know a few things about Vivian's life, which could help Joanna discover what happened.

Wish we could have gotten a peek at Victor Garber. I prefer him as a good guy, but I'll be curious to see if there isn't a little sinister in his nature in this show.
