Ironside Trailer Introduces Us To Blair Underwood's Detective Robert Ironside

Among the dramas coming to NBC is Ironside, a series that stars Blair Underwood as a wheelchair bound detective that doesn't let his handicap slow him down, as evidenced by the footage featured in the trailer above. NBC has his one set to air on Wednesday nights, following Revolution and Law & Order: SVU, starting this fall.
Ironside is a remake of a series that aired in the 60s and 70s, and comes from Michael Caleo and stars Underwood as Detective Robert Ironside, a fearless cop who ended up in a wheelchair when a couple of bullets shattered his spine two years ago. Clearly, he didn't let the life-altering situation put him on desk-duty, as he's still doing what he does best, using his top-notch instincts to solve cases.
In addition to Underwood, the series stars Greek's Spencer Grammer, Smash's Neal Bledsoe and The Wire's Pablo Schreiber.
The clips below give us an even better introduction to Ironside, first as he examines the scene of a potential crime - or possibly a suicide.
And this one shows Ironside's interrogation techniques…
Like the trailer for The Blacklist, which also involves catching bad guys, Ironside's gives away a lot about the series premiere, but it does a great job of setting up the plot of the series and Underwood's character. Whether or not Ironside has staying power remains to be seen, but we'll find out when it premieres this fall on NBC.
