It's Time To Get Bettyfied

As fall approaches, many of us are getting excited for the return of our favorite TV shows and looking forward to whatever new shows the network has in store for us. If you were too busy watching Earl and The Office on Thursdays, last season to check out ABC’s new dramedy, Ugly Betty, now’s your chance to get caught up on one of the best new shows from this past season.

Ugly Betty is a comedy/drama series about a frumpy girl from Queens who gets a job working at one of New York’s top fashion magazines, MODE. The show is a blend of hilariously bitchy humor, focusing on the vapid world that is fashion and a heartwarming tale about a genuinely good person and her ability to have a positive influence on even the most superficial of human beings.

The first season of Ugly Betty was just released for sale on DVD this week and the pilot episode is set to air on ABC this Thursday (8/23) at 8:00 p.m. So whether you’re in need of a refresher course on all things Betty or you’ve never seen an episode and are ready to find out what all the fuss is about, you’ve got multiple opportunities to get caught up.

The Bettyfied Edition of Ugly Betty Season 1 on DVD is chock full of special features including commentaries featuring various cast members, behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes. Check out the review for the Ugly Betty: The Complete First Season - The Bettyfied Edition DVD set here.

Episodes are also available to view for free online through ABC’s website but to be honest, you’re better off trying to catch them on TV as I’ve often found ABC’s streaming video to be somewhat spotty, even with a decent internet connection.

Season 2 of Ugly Betty is set to air on ABC on September 27, 2007.
