James Brolin Will Play Somebody's Dad In Community's Season 4 Thanksgiving Episode
Rumors abounded this morning that Jeff Winger might be getting a daddy on Community and that the formerly absentee father figure might be played by none other than James Brolin (for you youngsters out there, that’s Barbara Streisand’s husband and Josh Brolin’s dad). Luckily, it seems those rumors have held promise and Brolin will be appearing on NBC’s misfit comedy in November.
Community has a very special Thanksgiving episode in the works for Season 4. By special, I mean uncomfortable. According to Entertainment Weekly, Shirley will put together a super awkward Thanksgiving meal for the whole gang. However, Jeff will have alternative plans, and while his pals are having their shindig, he’ll be meeting his father face-to-face for the first time in a long while.
Winger hasn’t seen his father since childhood, and while he generally puts on a grouchy and better-than-thou façade, he does genuinely have feelings and get upset on occasion, and meeting William Winger may just be one of the few times Jeff loses a little bit of control. Whether or not this means tears, anger, or just a few sarcastic one-liners will have to wait until November, but luckily, fans can catch new episodes of Community a whole lot sooner. The series' 13-episode fourth season airs on October 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
