Jennifer Love Hewitt Developing Derfwad Manor Blog Drama For Lifetime
One of Lifetime’s stars is developing a new drama for the network based on a blog post in which a housewife daydreams about a very different romantic life. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who stars in the network’s successful series The Client List is now working on Mrs. G’s Bigger Love, her second new project there, and will executive produce.
The project stems from a first-look deal Hewitt’s Fedora Films has with Lifetime and is a television adaptation of a post in the blog Derfwad Manor, in which housewife Heather Gatticio writes a post ruminating about a life in which she is secretly a polygamist married to several famous men. In the TV adaptation that's in development, her blog attracts attention for the fake life she presents in it, and leads to a potential book deal. She then finds herself having to cover up the reality of her boring life in order to keep her fake one going so she can hold onto her dreams of fame and fortune. From the Deadline description it doesn't sound like there will be any celebrities involved in the television version of her polygamist fantasies.
Mrs. G’s Bigger Love joins Jennifer Love Hewitt’s other project in development at Lifetime, a series based on The Day I Shot Cupid, a frank and honest dating advice book based on personal experience that Hewitt published in 2010. Mrs. G shares something of its theme with The Client List, at least when it comes to a woman living a secret life, although in this case the secret life is just a fantasy. Lifetime seems to be continuing the same concept with another new project, more obviously titled The Secret Lives of Wives.
