Jersey Shore Cancelled, Season 6 To Be The Last
Word is in and it looks like the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be its last. Those who've enjoyed the partying antics of a group of super-tanned Jersey-dwelling friends have one more season to enjoy them, after which you may have to take a trip to Seaside to get your fix of the Shore.
MTV made the official announcement today, stating that Season 6 will be the last for Jersey Shore. The reality series, follows a group of self-proclaimed "guidos/guidettes" as they summer together in a house near the beach in Seaside, New Jersey. The series has also featured (most of) the same cast living together in Miami and on vacation in Italy.
While I'm sure fans of the series are disappointed to know the show is ending, it's not all that surprising that the series is coming to a close. It still draws strong ratings for MTV, but the numbers have started to slip. And it's entirely possible that the cast is ready to move on to other opportunities. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi just had a baby (she'll be seen pregnant in Season 6). Maybe it's just time to move on for all of them. Farewell Snooki and JWoww and Situation. Farewell phrases like "DTF" and "GTL" and "grenade." Farewell drunken shenanigans and fighting caught on video. While Jersey Shore may soon be gone, it will not be forgotten, and something tells me it won't be long before another guilty-pleasure reality show takes its place.
So, while the end is near, there's still one more season for the series. Here's what MTV has in store for Jersey Shore fans ahead of the Season 6 premiere, which is set for Thursday, October 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
