Jimmy Fallon Has The Guys With Kids Perform A History Of TV Theme Songs
This "History Of TV Theme Songs" video isn't just entertaining, it's also a pretty savvy marketing move on behalf of NBC and Jimmy Fallon. Pretty much anytime the Late Night host pulls a singing stunt like this, whether imitating The Doors, Neil Young or David Bowie (just a few of many great examples), the ensuing clip goes viral, so what better way to herald the arrival of his new sitcom, Guys with Kids, to the airwaves?
The new NBC sitcom from Fallon, Charlie Grandy and Amy Ozols stars Anthony Anderson, Jesse Bradford and Zach Cregger as the titular Guys with Kids and, after a special sneak preview of the "Pilot" was released online, the second installment of the new series airs tonight which is probably why the three appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday and produced the aforementioned viral video.
The host and his three guests briefly discuss the importance of the TV theme song, not to mention how Mr. Fallon provides the vocals for the Guys with Kids' intro, before breaking out a lesson reminiscent of of the "History of Rap (Parts 1, 2 and 3)" videos with Justin Timberlake. Here's Fallon, Anderson, Bradford and Cregger performing the "History Of TV Theme Songs." Can you name them all?*
And for those who haven't heard the Guys with Kids theme, here's the new comedy's title sequence...
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. on NBC. The second episode of Guys with Kids, “Chris’ New Girlfriend,” airs tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET also on NBC and if you missed the "Pilot" and want to catch up, you can still watch it online on NBC or Hulu.
