Jodie Sweetin Will Bring All Her Assets To Dancing With The Stars
A hot minute after Fuller House was renewed for a second season, series lead Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie on the hit sitcom, also announced she will be joining Dancing with the Stars next season. The DWTS casting news is so perfect on so many levels. Jodie Sweetin is also one of the first celebrities to reveal that she will be a part of Season 22. She will be partnered up with professional dancer Keo Motsepe.
Jodie Sweetin will bring plenty of assets to the table during her tenure on Dancing with the Stars. We already know the actress can dance, as Fuller House was basically one extended dance sequence. There was even an episode when Stephanie, D.J. and Kimmy decided to go to a club, where they met up with two handsome gentlemen, played by none other than Dancing with the Stars’ Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. A dancing competition obviously ensued. (Macy Grey was also involved in this episode, but that’s not nearly as memorable.) Plus, later episodes featured Bollywood-style dancing and more. It’s like it was Sweetin’s destiny to compete in Dancing with the Stars.
So far, we know that Dancing with the Stars Season 22 is expected to hit the schedule later this month. While a ton of names have yet to be announced, we do know that Paige VanZant, Kim Fields and Nyle DiMarco are all on board. Paige VanZant is an MMA fighter, Kim Fields is an actress and Nyle DiMarco competed on America’s Next Top Model. Scott Disick was also in talks, but reports indicate he wants a lot of money, so don't keep your hopes up.
Presumably, the actress will have plenty of time to film Season 22 before Season 2 of Fuller House gets off of the ground. She’ll probably be in great shape when she gets back to her Netflix series, too. Dancing with the Stars has been known to be tough on competitors, but all of that dancing helps celebrities to be in peak fitness, as well.
Jodie Sweetin isn’t the first Fuller House cast member to appear on Dancing with the Stars. Cameron Candace Bure, who plays D.J., had a sick run just a few short seasons ago. Her partner was Mark Ballas, and they ended up finishing in third place. That also goes a long way to explain why D.J.’s dance moves were so solid during Fuller House’s run. I can’t explain Kimmy Gibbler’s capabilities, though.
We should presumably be getting more Season 22 casting news over the next few weeks. In fact, it’s a little surprising that more names haven’t been dropped at this point. You can also catch new episodes—albeit sans Julianne Hough—starting on March 21 at 8 p.m. ET, only on ABC. In addition, you can see what else the networks have coming up with our midseason TV premiere schedule.
