Joe Egender And Melissa Tang Join To My Future Assistant Pilot
Alcatraz actor Joe Egender and relative newcomer Melissa Tang, who can count acting credits on single episodes of New Girl and Harry’s Law, as well as appearing in A Good Day to Die Hard, have landed leads in Fox’s comedy pilot To My Future Assistant. The show will follow a group of assistants working for horrible bosses and, of course, Tang and Egender have both signed on to play a couple of those assistants.
To My Future Assistant revolves around a group of assistants who have come together and created various coping mechanisms for working within the same grueling law firm in New York City. According to Deadline, Egender will play Roy, a paralegal with a crush on another paralegal named Jen. He’ll also play an assistant known for sarcasm who is forced to deal with plenty of unpleasant tasks relating to his boss, Magda. Tang will play Claire, an assistant with a great attitude and demeanor who changes her ways after earning a promotion.
Fox’s To My Future Assistant comedy pilot got the ball rolling three days ago, signing on veteran actress Catherine O’Hara to play one of the bad bosses. In fact, O’Hara is set to play Roy’s bad boss, which should make things pretty interesting. While it may be difficult for the pilot to top signing O’Hara, given the boss and assistant dynamic, To My Future Assistant should feature a nice balance of veteran actors and actresses and newcomers. We’ll let you know when Fox adds a few more to its pilot.
