Jon Heder To Star In Comedy Central Sitcom

It’s been reported today that Jon Heder has signed a sitcom deal with Comedy Central. Heder’s probably best known for his starring role in the ridiculous but hilarious film Napoleon Dynamite.

According to TV Guide, Heder is set to star in a “groundbreaking” sitcom which is being written and produced by Will Ferrell. Their story states that it will debut in 2010 and will center on Heder’s character, an unemployed IT guy who moves back home to live with his parents and younger brother. Comedy Central ordered 10 episodes of the series with an option to pick up more if the first season does well.

Along with Napoleon Dynamite, Heder’s also starred in Blades of Glory. Though I have to admit, not having seen BoG, I think I preferred his small but hilarious role as Darryl in the Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy Just Like Heaven. His scenes are part of what makes that movie worth rewatching. I can’t wait to see what his character’s like in this new sitcom.
