Jon Tenney Signs On As Male Lead In TNT Pilot King and Maxwell
The Closer’s Jon Tenney is a talented actor, and, as such, did not have to wait very long to jump on board a brand new series. TNT’s hit drama only ended its lengthy run this past August, and Tenney is already set for the pilot project King and Maxwell. Unsurprisingly, King and Maxwell is being put together for TNT.
I’m not certain whether Tenney’s quick involvement with the pilot was the big tip-off or whether I immediately knew due to the fact the network has again chosen to name a TV program after two character’s last names (See: Rizzoli and Isles or Franklin and Bash). In the upcoming pilot, Tenney will play Sean King, a private investigator who formerly worked for the secret service. According to Deadline, his partner, Michelle Maxwell, will come from the same background, giving the team a leg up on the competition.
The pilot will be executive produced by Shane Brennan, who also has adapted the show from characters famed bestselling author David Baldacci concocted. Additionally, Baldacci has signed on as a consultant with the project, and Karen Spiegel and Grant Anderson will help produce. With Brennan former credits as the NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer (shows that do extremely well) and with Tenney signed on to star, TNT’s upcoming pilot has a good chance of making it to series. The pilot just needs to find its leading lady, first. TV Blend will keep you posted if King and Maxwell adds to the cast.
