Kanye West Steals Taylor Swift's Moment At VMAs
The VMA’s are always a bit unpredictable and tonight’s ceremony was no exception. Kanye West caused a splash and inspired boos when he took the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for “Best Female Video” to defend Beyonce’s video, which was among the nominees for the award.
Taylor, who seemed genuinely stunned when her name was announced, was expressing her gratitude and surprise that she won the award, considering she’s a country singer when Kanye stepped up on stage, took the microphone from her and said, “I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” They cut to Beyonce looking surprised and awkward as the crowd booed Kayne and Taylor hung back awkwardly, clutching her moonman and probably wondering if this was somehow part of the show. UPDATE: After Beyonce won for Best Video, she graciously called Swift to the stage to give her the opportunity to finish her moment.
