Key & Peele Gets Renewed For Season 3
Key & Peele wraps up its second season on Comedy Central tomorrow night. Just the other day we shared a hat-focused sketch from the episode, and today comes good news for those who are hoping the show will be back for another season. The word is in and Key & Peele will return for Season 3! Unfortunately, we'll have quite a while to wait for it.
Executive Produced by Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Ian Roberts, Jay Martel and Joel Zadak, Key & Peele is a sketch comedy series that stars Key and Peele as they perform some stand-up together and participate in various recorded sketches. The series wraps up its second season tomorrow night and according to Comedy Central's announcement today, the series will be back for Season 3. The network has given the show a 13-episode order for Season 3, which will premiere in Fall 2013.
Given that Season 1 premiered last January, Fall of next year feels like a very long gap between now and the next season. On the bright side, hopefully the extra time will give the comedians plenty of time to put together some hilarious sketches. One of the things that works so well about the show is the way they turn a pretty simple joke into a sketch scenario. That worked well for them with the recurring Obama and Luther sketches, which have the duo playing President Obama and his anger translator Luther. And it works well in the sketch from tomorrow night's Season 2 finale, which has the two stars attempting to top each other's hats. You can watch that one here.
Key & Peele's Season 2 finale airs Wednesday, November 28 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
