Kristin Chenoweth Joins Good Christian Bitches
Well, this is a good piece of casting. Kristin Chenoweth, a good Christian bitch if I’ve ever seen one, has just been tapped to play a catty neighbor in former Sex And The City executive producer Darren Starr’s new show Good Christian Bitches. Not surprisingly, the ABC dramedy is already embroiled in its share of controversy, with the Parents Television Council bashing the network for even moving forward with the pilot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the loudmouth organization already released a statement saying the program was an “affront to women” and a blatant attack on “the world’s largest faith”. They also criticized the title, calling the word bitch “toxic” and a tool to “degrade” and “humiliate” women. Someone should give women that memo, as I’m sure they easily use the word five or ten times more than men.
The basic plot of Good Christian Bitches centers around a Dallas neighborhood prone to scandal that erupts after a new divorced chick moves to town, altering the social hierarchy and adding new fodder for gossip. Big Love director Alan Poul will helm the pilot. We’ll see if these protests have any effect on whether the show ultimately gets picked up.
