Larry The Cable Guy To Git-R-Animated
Git-R-Animated? Oh yeah, baby. The ‘Blue Collar’ comedian Larry the Cable Guy, known for his Southern-style hick schtick, is set to star in an as yet untitled animated laffer with Comedy Central.
Larry, who’s birth name is Daniel Whitney, will voice an amiable dunce who co-owns a cable TV station along with a straight-laced woman of class. Hilarity is sure to ensue as the two will go head to head in a clash of visions between low-class Larry’s goofball, albeit unique show ideas for the station, against the lady’s more tasteful and traditional choices of programming.
Larry, along with Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow will executive produce and write the show, according to TV.com. Says Larry, "I am very excited about this animated project. Comedy Central has always been good to me, and I thank them for giving me the opportunity once again to live up to their low expectations."
And how? In November 2003 Comedy Central aired the network TV premiere of the film Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie, drawing 2 million pairs of eyeballs. Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again in February 2005 nabbed 6.1 million viewers, while Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road hauled in 5.3 million in June of that year. And don’t forget about “America’s hardest working comedy” ‘Blue Collar TV,’ which continues to air on Comedy Central.
Larry has seen his star rise in the cinematic world as well. This year he voiced a character in the hit Cars as well as starred in Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. In 2007 he will appear in the comedy Delta Farce. You can also check out his official homepage in all its rugged glory here..
