I’m somewhat embarrassed about the amount of coverage we’ve given to morning talk shows lately. We’re supposed to be covering serious stuff like what was on that map on "LOST" and such. However, we have to lower ourselves from time to time to report the lesser news stories because some of you people out there actually want to know where in the world Matt Lauer will be! All kidding aside, rumors have been about that Lauer could leave NBC after his contract was up. NBC didn't waste anytime quashing this story.
People magazine says Matt Lauer has agreed to extend his “Today” show contract through 2011. According to rumored reports, Lauer will make $13 million a year. Holy hell. The guy makes more money while I’m shaving than I’ll make in my lifetime. Damn him and his horrible haircut (sorry, I feel petty right now). With Katie Couric leaving, Lauer will provide stability to television's number one morning talk show for years to come.
