The X Factor speculation continues, and the latest star rumored to be on the potential judge list? Country music singer LeAnn Rimes apparently. At the end of January the cast took a hit after hit as stars were dropped from the show, and since then it’s been a rumor mill spectacular with a number of names coming up as possibilities for replacements.
Today the rumor mill has brought up LeAnn Rimes, according to EW as one of the possible new judges. She joins Janet Jackson on the possibility list. Even Whitney Houston was suggested as a possible judge just before news of her tragic death shocked the world on February 11th.
We know L.A. Reid will return to the show – he signed a deal on the heels of the news that practically everyone else was given the boot. So who will be joining him at the judge’s table next season? So far, everything we have heard remains just speculation, but Simon Cowell has stated he’s looking to add two female judges to balance himself and Reid. Rimes would bring in a little bit of country and experience in a competition show – she’s a former Star Search winner. She's also had plenty of media attention lately for her weight loss, so she brings some curiosity value.
Simon Cowell is expected to make some job offers pretty soon, since they’ll have to move forward with the second season and they can’t very well do it without judges. Other names in the judge-hat include former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland and even Britney Spears.
