The League Preview: Season 2 Game On

Coming up later this month, FX will premiere Season 2 of the comedy series The League. We have some teasers for the new season that should give you a taste of what’s to come from the football-loving group of friends.

The League is a comedy series about a bunch of friends whose love of football and obsession with their fantasy football league keeps them from drifting apart as they go about the rituals of adulthood, while inwardly clutching their inner child. For those of you, like me, who don’t care so much about sports and just want a good laugh, the series has more to offer than just sports jokes. Check out the teasers below FX’s description for the series for evidence of that.

After a successful rookie season in ‘09, The League (9/16) returns to its Thursday, 10:30 PM time slot following Sunny. Set against the backdrop of a fantasy football league, The League is comedy about friendship, marriage, parenting, and growing up…or refusing to grow up. It was created by the husband-and-wife team of Jeff Schaffer (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) and Jackie Marcus Schaffer (Disturbia, EuroTrip) who serve as executive producers. The ensemble features Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton and Jon Lajoie. The League is produced by FX Productions. FX will air 13 episodes of season two of The League.

The League Season 2 premieres Thursday, September 16th at 10:30 PM ET/PT on FX.
