Lifetime's Lovespring International Premieres Tonight!
Improvised sitcoms are slowly but steadily becoming popular among TV viewers. What is an improvised sitcom, you ask? Also referred to as "improv comedies", prime examples would include HBO’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ or Fox’s ‘Arrested Development’. The genre hasn’t exactly hit mainstream but it does have a growing following. Lifetime Network has decided to take a stab at it with their new series ‘Lovespring International’
The show takes place at a dating service called Lovespring International. The service is run by a group of incompetent matchmakers, who claim their agency is the elite in Beverly Hills dating services (even though they’re located in the Valley). They serve as “relationship-counselors” even though none of them can manage to maintain a functional relationship in their own lives.
‘Lovespring International’ is drenched in known comedic actors. The executive producer is Eric McCormack and set to star in the show is improv-veteran, Jane Lynch (Best In Show, 40 Year Old Virgin). Also included in the cast is Jennifer Elise Cox (Jan Brady from the Brady Bunch movies), Sam Pancake (‘Arrested Development’, ‘Kitchen Confidential’) and Jack Plotnick (‘Reno 911’ and the voice of Xandir in ‘Drawn Together’ on Comedy Central).
‘Lovespring International’ will premiere Monday, June 5th at 11 pm on Lifetime and will rerun various times throughout the week.
