Lorelai Gilmore Comes To NBC
Lorelai Gilmore is coming back to television! Well, not Lorelai Gilmore exactly, but the actress who played her, Lauren Graham is. Graham has just signed a seven-figure development deal, according to Variety.
The deal states that NBC will develop a series based around Graham. This would not be the first time Graham and NBC have worked together. Graham has guested on several Peacock shows in the past, including NewsRadio, 3rd Rock From the Sun, and Seinfeld years ago.
When asked about her new deal with NBC, Graham said that she was excited to work with another network that has an animal for a mascot.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. After watching Lauren Graham for seven seasons as Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, I can honestly say that I have a hard time picturing her in any other role and that is not good. I’ve seen her in a few films, including Because I Said So and (I’m ashamed to admit) The Pacifier, that awful movie with Vin Diesel. When I watch her in other roles, like those two, she just doesn’t seem to have the same spark that she did as Lorelai.
So unless NBC develops a comedy for her, where she’s a fast-talkin’ coffee drinker who runs an inn and has a daughter only 16 years younger than her, I just don’t know how well her new show will do.
