Lost Season 4 Trailer Pops Online With More Questions Than Answers
The trailer for the fourth season of ABC’s Lost is currently showing in movie theaters across the country, but lucky for us, you don’t have to go to the multiplex to take a look at it. High-res versions of the Season 4 preview have popped up on online, and in typical Lost fashion, there’s going to be more discussion about what you can’t see in the 35-second clip than what you can.
What seems to be a big factor in next season is the “rescue” craft that the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 contacted at the end of the season 3. As the now-famous flash “forward” with Jack showed, things will only get worse for the castaways if they are eventually saved from Dharma Island. We also saw that the woman who parachuted onto the island with Desmond and Penny’s picture was not part of a rescue plan hatched by Des’ true love, thanks to Charilie's contact with her as the underwater Dharma station began to flood.
But what makes this trailer amazing is that in between footage from Season 4, there are flash frames of other potentially important scenes which can only be seen for a split second. From what I can tell, there’s a “6,” a shot of what looks like the mysterious Jacob, a mushroom cloud, and even a brief appearance by a well-groomed Charlie. There are also hints of a new hatch logo, and a weird, almost 50s-like spacesuit, which appears to be worked by Jack in a later flash frame. Also, it looks like someone is stabbed in the back.
The trailer says that Lost will be returning in February 2008, but as of right now, only 8 episodes have been shot because of the writers’ strike. After some of the amazing hints embedded in this teaser, there will be holy hell raise in Lostland if the show is delayed by the Writer's Strike, or worse, suffers the fate of 24 and gets bumped altogether. Until this all works out, enjoy these 35 seconds, and if you guys seen anything I missed, post it in the comments:
