MTV Cancels Good Vibes, No Word On Beavis And Butt-Head Yet

Despite what sounds like a real effort on MTV’s part to find a way to keep the show on the air and build a better audience, the once music-focused cable network has decided to cancel their new animated comedy series Good Vibes after just one season

From what Deadline reports, MTV’s decision not to pick Good Vibes up for a second season comes after conversations between the network and the show’s producers about trying to keep the show going, which included possibly pairing the show with MTV’s live-action dramedy Awkward. In the end, the network made the choice not to move forward with the series.

Good Vibes premiered last fall, along with the revival of the popular 90’s animated Mike Judge comedy Beavis & Butt-head. While B&B was pulling in stronger ratings than Good Vibes, the official word on the fate of the series has not come in yet. According to Deadline, conversations about that are still ongoing.

I was never able to get into Good Vibes, so I’d be lying if I said I was especially disappointed by this news. But I was loving the return of B&B and the duo’s take on modern day pop culture, including reality TV (especially their Jersey Shore commentary). Hopefully MTV will opt to bring that back for a second season.
