MTV Lures People Into Room 401

If there’s one thing MTV has learned from ‘Jackass,’ it’s that viewers love to be shocked and grossed out. The success of ‘Jackass’ was followed by ‘Viva La Bam’ and most recently, the incredibly gross series, ‘Scarred’ which shows video footage of people breaking their bones and suffering other horrible physical mishaps. MTV plans to unleash a new series, which will focus on people getting the crap scared out of them.

The new series, titled ‘Room 401’ was created by Jason Goldberg and celebrity prankster, Ashton Kutcher. In the show, “unaware victims” will be lured into a room where mini horror movies will be played out live in front of them. Special effects will be used to create the stunts, which will include the reanimation of the dead, chainsaw mishaps and “sinister sushi experiences” (whatever that means). Viewers will watch as the person in the room tries to deal with what they’re seeing. Lots of screaming, nervous laughter and maybe even a little pants-wetting is probably on the menu for some of the people who have the unfortunate opportunity to enter Room 401.

‘Room 401’ will air on MTV on Tuesday, July 17th at 10:00 p.m. Fans will also be treated to an extended season of ‘Scarred’ at 10:30 p.m. following ‘Room 401.’

Also, for those of you who cant get enough slow-motion footage of a person’s bone snapping and protruding through their skin, MTV will be airing a special one-hour episode of ‘Scarred,’ titled ‘Scarred: The Worst of the Worst’ at 11:00 p.m. on July 17th. The episode will feature the viewers’ favorite clips from the first ten episodes of the series.
