Yes, Virginia. There IS a Santa Claus. MTV announced that A Shot At Love will return for Season 2 this spring. The series’ over-exposed bi-sexual star, Tila “Tequila” Nguyen, has been practically in our faces 24/7, from the cranked-up series itself to MTV’s New Year’s Eve masquerade party.
The network will air 10 new episodes beginning this spring, with a new group of suitors, both straight guys and lesbians, vying for the provocatrix’s (that would be Tila’s) love and attention. No word yet on whether any of these people have any shame whatsoever. Where DO they get these people?
Season One ended with a whopping 6.2 million viewers tuning in to make it MTV’s most-watched series telecast. A spinoff, That’s Amore, is already in the works, featuring A Shot at Love contestant Domenico Nesci, who was born and raised in Milan. Nesci will be searching for an American sweetie from among 15 women. The winner will travel to Italy and meet his mother! And…that’s the prize…?
Anyhoo, in related news, the company behind the shows, 495 Productions, has struck a deal to develop, supervise, produce and consult on MTV branded programming. Founder and President of 495 Productions, Sally Ann Salsano, founded the company in 2006, helming such hits as HGTV's hit, Design Star, Style network's The Big Party Plan-Off, and the freshman seasons of A Shot At Love and The Hangover.
