Mad Men's Melinda McGraw Cast In Scandal

We're amidst a near-month-long gap between new episodes for Scandal, beginning with the first Thursday night without a new episode of the soapy drama this week. On the bright side, the series will be back with new episodes, starting later next month, and at some point this spring, Mad Men's Melinda McGraw will appear in the series.
Word of McGraw's casting came today, via TVLine, who repots that the actor will play the wife of the wealthy Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry). Her character's name is Deborah and she's described as a "smart and ambitious New York native." Exactly how she fits into the story beyond her marital connection isn't specified, but if she's anything like her oil tycoon husband, we should probably keep an eye on her as she may be up to no good.
Many of McGraw's small screen credits involve dramas. She played Don Draper's mistress Bobbie Barrett in the second season of Mad Men, and has also appeared in NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, Fairly Legal and Harry's Law. But she's also done some comedy, with a role on Men of a Certain Age and most recently, the part of Vera in the (unfortunately) cancelled Ben and Kate. Had Fox not decided to cut the show lose, we might have expected to see her around a bit more. On the bright side, the comedy's cancellation may have freed her up to be available to take on the Scandal role.
Scandal's next new episode airs March 21. Melinda McGraw's character is expected to debut in April.
