Mary Louise Parker Not Leaving Weeds
If you were concerned that Mary Louise Parker might be leaving her starring role in the Showtime pot-drama Weeds, rest assured that the rumors aren’t true.
According to E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos’ blog, Parker says the show will be around for at least another year. “We for sure have one more year, so I don't have to be sad yet. I can smile a little bit longer.” The actress, who plays a suburban soccer mom-slash-pot dealer in Weeds also expressed sadness at the thought of the show coming to an end and enthusiasm about the incredible cast of the series.
As I’m not a Showtime subscriber, I have to rely on the DVD’s to stay up on this series and as of late, I’m only a few episodes into the fourth season. The series is currently in its fifth season and apparently still just as fantastic as ever, if Dos Santos’ blog is to be believed. It’s good to hear the lead actress isn’t planning on leaving the series. While the rest of the cast is truly excellent (Elizabeth Perkins, Kevin Nealon – wow.), it’s Parker’s excellent performance as the sassy, intelligent but still vulnerable Nancy Botwin that really drives the show.
