Michael J. Fox And Robin Williams Come Back To TV, Parenthood, Glee And More Return Tonight

Like last night, tonight's primetime line-up features a number of premieres, but most of them are returning shows. It's a big night for comedy, as CBS brings back The Big Bang Theory and debuts The Crazy Ones, while NBC brings Parks and Recreation back along with the premiere of The Michael J. Fox Show. Thursday night also marks the return of Glee, Parenthood, Grey's Anatomy and Elementary.
But what about Scandal? Where's Scandal?! Rest assured, the ABC drama returns next Thursday night, creating an even bigger scheduling conflict for those of us who need our Fitz-fix and love the Bravermans and Sherlock.
We'll get to the returning shows in a minute. Let's talk about what's new tonight.
The Crazy Ones is David E. Kelley's new series, and -- surprise! -- it's not an hour-long drama, nor does it have anything to do with law. The CBS half-hour comedy stars Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar as a father-daughter pair who work together at an advertising firm. Those who find Williams' comedic riffing to be hilarious should like what the series premiere has to offer. And if that doesn't do it for you, there's also an appearance by Kelly Clarkson. The Crazy Ones premieres tonight (Thursday, September 26) at 9:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Read our review here.
And over on NBC, we have the one-hour premiere of NBC's new comedy The Michael J. Fox Show. As you may have guessed, this is Michael J. Fox's big return to television. In the series, he plays Mike Henry, a NYC news reporter who's battling Parkinson's disease and ready to return to work. It's a family comedy, which also happens to star Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt, who plays Mike's wife. The series premieres tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Read our review here.
As for the returning shows, NBC has Parks and Recreation (8 p.m.) and Parenthood (10:00 p.m.). I've seen the first episode of Parenthood, and it's great. Not only are there some interesting developments among the Braverman clan, but in typical Parenthood fashion, the season premiere left me teary-eyed.
On ABC, there's the 2-hour season premiere of Grey's Anatomy at 9:00 p.m. after a repeat of the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere. And then for CBS, it's The Big Bang Theory at 8:00 p.m., Two and a Half Men at 9:30 p.m. and Elementary at 10:00 p.m.

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
