Mischa Barton's New Series Production Delay

Production on the CW’s new drama Beautiful Life was supposed to begin on July 22nd but reports are stating that the series, which stars Mischa Barton (The OC) is having a bit of a scheduling change as far as production goes, though sources say it has nothing to do with Barton’s recent meltdown.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production for Beautiful Life, which is exec produced by Ashton Kutcher and stars Barton, has been pushed from July 22nd to the week of July 31st. Obvious speculation is that the delay was due to the medical issue involving Barton that resulted in her being put on an involuntary psychiatric hold but according to the Reporter, sources say the delay is due to an issue with the sets not being completed on time. Call me skeptical but… eh, whatever. Whether it really is a set issue or because Barton’s having some personal issues, it’s only a week delay. I’m sure a week is a long time for TV producers when they’re on a schedule but I doubt this will prevent the series from premiering on time come fall.

In Beautiful Life Barton will play a supermodel and vet of the high-fashion circuit who’s trying to keep on top and worried that her fame and success might be slipping. Drama!
