Morgan Spurlock's New Series Inside Man Set For CNN In 2013
Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is likely best known for his documentary film Super Size Me. Since taking on the fast food industry, he's gone on to tackle other subjects in feature documentaries and on television. His recent film Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope took a closer look at Comic Con in San Diego, from the perspective of a number of attendees. And now it looks like Spurlock is headed to CNN to hopefully liven up their weekend programming a bit.
CNN announced today that the Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock, would be returning to TV to host and produce a new original series called Inside Man. The show will have Spurlock providing "an insider’s view into rarely-seen sectors of American life that include gun lovers, marijuana growers, migrant farm workers, and end-of-life caregivers." This marks the filmmaker's return to television, having created and hosted the FX series 30 Days, a series that went on for three seasons and had Spurlock exploring various lifestyles. He also produced and hosted Hulu's A Day in the Life. And now he'll be bringing his talent and eye for the interesting over to CNN.
As a fan of his work, not only is it great news to see that he's getting back into television, but it's also especially promising to know he'll be hosting Inside Man in addition to producing it. Spurlock's charismatic and engaging personality is one of the things that made Super Size Me work so well. He has a great on screen presence, which will definitely be an asset to this new series.
Inside Man is slated to debut April 2013 and air on weekends alongside Anthony Bourdain's new series.
