NBC Caters To Sports Fans With Sports Action Team

NBC is set to air a new comedy immediately following their Sunday night telecasts of NFL games. ‘Sports Action Team’, which premieres next fall will center around a group of improv-actors and comedians playing sports reporters. Their job will be to interview real-life athletes and celebrities. Watching comedians mess with celebrities is always good for a laugh and it’s likely that NBC is counting on the sports fans to stick around after the game to watch the 30 minute show.

According to Reuters, the show was produced by Towers Productions Inc., a Chicago based company which is working in association with WMAQ (which is owned by NBC). For fans who can’t get enough of ‘Sports Action Team’ on TV, they can go online to view outtakes, blogs and other bonus materials on the show’s website.

Set to star in the show are Kevin Fleming, Steven Fleming, Al Samuels, Antoine McKay, Katie Nahnsen and Niki Lindgren (pictured).
