NBC Revamps Fall Schedule To Protect Studio 60
When the upfronts took place earlier this month, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fans were disappointed to learn that their favorite medical dramedy series was moved from Sunday to Thursday night, up against ‘The O.C.’ and ‘CSI’. But did anyone care about NBC’s new show, ‘Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip’? You might not have but NBC execs definitely did. How can NBC’s new show compete with the well-established and extremely popular series’ sharing the timeslot?
Face it, it can’t and after getting slammed in the ratings this season, the network cant afford to take risks like that. So rather than allowing ‘Studio 60’ to crash and burn as it surely would have in the wake of its competitors, NBC decided to make some changes to it’s fall line up. ‘Studio 60’ will be moved to Monday nights at 10 pm and the 9-10 pm spot on Thursday evenings will be filled by the latest must-see-cant-stop-talking-about-cant-possibly-last-that-much-longer game show, ‘Deal of No Deal’
This line-up change is likely to give ‘Studio 60’ a much better chance at lasting through the season and at the same time, give people who don’t care about crime investigations, whiny rich kids or horny overly dramatic surgeons something else to watch.
