The NFL And NBC Team Up For NFL Turning Point On Versus
The NFL season was anything less than a certainty this year. After a few months of negotiations between the super rich and the super-duper rich, it seems like us fans will have some good old fashioned football to watch every Sunday (and Monday... and some Thursdays). To coincide with the upcoming season, NFL Films and NBC Sports Group has just announced a new show called NFL Turning Point.
According to a new press release issued by the companies, the NFL and NBC want to give fans an even more in depth look at some of the most crucial plays from that week in football. The show will air on NBC's VERSUS Network (which is being renamed The NBC Sports Network come January 2, 2012) throughout the year, starting on Thursdays at 10 p.m. before moving to midnight once the Thursday night games kick in mid-season.
Here's the official synopsis for NFL Turning Point,
This show sounds very similar to the long running HBO series 24/7, which began by going behind the scenes before, during and after big boxing matches, highlighting all the infinite and minute details that go into preparing for and executing during a professional sports event. The series was expanded last year with an in-depth look at the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals rivalry leading up to the NHL Heritage Classic game. This time though, the insiders are going to analyze and dissect the world of professional football and it sounds like it could be a great show. Any inside view into the world of professional sports is almost always interesting and with such colorful characters that you find around the NFL, this could be very entertaining.
Like I mentioned above, the new series airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. starting September 15 and will air a new every week until November 10, when new episodes will air at 12 a.m. Are you ready for some football? No? Oh... Well. I am.
