The Newsroom Preview: Episode 2 - News Night 2.0

Last night's series premiere of The Newsroom introduced to Jeff Daniels' Will McAvoy, a cable news anchor who until recently, had managed to straddle the line between the left and right, avoiding taking a stance and refusing to choose one side or the other. If you haven't seen the premiere yet, watch it here (and read no further to avoid spoilers!). The premiere episode had McAvoy and his recently updated staff tackling what would prove to be a huge breaking story. What's ahead for News Night 2.0? Check out the video ahead for a look!
It's evident from the first episode that there's some history between Will and Mackenzie. In the first part of this video, it looks like Will thinks it'll be a good idea to keep a lid on whatever it was that led to their end. Of course, you have to figure that gossip might run rampant in a work environment full of people whose job it is to catch, research and spread the news…
It also looks like things are moving forward with News Night 2.0, which just so happens to be the episode title. I'll be very interested to see where things pick up for the series following what was obviously a very big day for News Night during the series premiere.
Read Jonathan's breakdown of last night's series premiere here. And if you want to watch the first episode again, check it out here.
The Newsroom airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
